A country size name is not enough to order bedding. Confirm the finished width and length of each item, the measurement unit and the mattress it must fit. Keep one approved master unit; an inch conversion is a display aid, not a different product size.

Names are not specifications

Use Single, Queen or King as a retail label only after the buyer has approved the actual dimensions. Ask the destination retailer or hotel for its own mattress schedule; a country name alone does not establish one universal size.

How do you convert centimetres to inches? Divide centimetres by 2.54. A 200 × 230 cm item is approximately 78.7 × 90.6 in when rounded to one decimal place. Keep 200 × 230 cm as the controlling specification if that is the agreed master unit; do not convert the rounded values back into a new cutting size.

Write the dimension order explicitly: width × length for a flat item, with mattress depth recorded separately. Do not assume a 200 × 230 cm duvet cover describes a 200 × 230 cm mattress, or assign it a King label without the buyer’s size chart.

Map every component

Give each component its own row in the specification: item name, finished width and length, quantity per pack and intended mattress or insert. For a fitted sheet, record mattress depth and the agreed fitting requirements separately. For a duvet cover and pillowcase, distinguish the cover size from the insert it must accommodate.

A flat-sheet coverage example: a 200 cm wide sheet centred on a 160 cm wide mattress leaves 20 cm on each side before allowing for mattress depth, tuck-under or laundering. This is arithmetic, not proof of fit. The buyer must decide whether that coverage is sufficient for the intended bed-making method.

Put the chart into approvals

Mark whether each dimension is measured before or after laundering, how the item is laid flat, and the agreed tolerance. Rounded display measurements are not manufacturing tolerances. Do not apply an assumed shrinkage percentage when the actual fabric and care procedure have not been verified.

Use one revision-controlled size schedule across the quotation, sample approval, purchase order, label artwork and inspection. If the buyer changes a dimension or piece count, update the schedule and obtain approval before using the revised specification; a translated size label must not silently change the dimensions.

For a useful quotation, send the destination city and channel, mattress dimensions, item-by-item finished sizes, quantity per item, master unit and required delivery window. Include a marked measurement photo if a dimension is unclear. Ask the supplier to identify any unconfirmed field instead of filling it with an assumed national standard.
